Greater Snow Geese

Awash with foie gras, we went in search of Greater Snow Geese at Cap Tourmente on Sunday. It’s the middle of the fall migration, and there were about 50,000 present that day, en route to Chesapeake Bay and environs where they spend the winter.

The geese were mostly squawking about in the tidal marsh, stunning in their numbers, low down.

The fall colours were sublime.

Thanksgiving.
