Niki Letters at York School (#20 2012.01.20)

Before we went to Uganda, Lisa and I went to a local high school program school here to talk about the project, and to ask the students to write letters to the kids. We brought them back the letters today, and despite the messiness (some people got two or three, some got none — the Niki kids who like to write letters borrowed other kids’ penpals kind of at random), they were delightful. Love to watch a 14 year old Canadian boy THRILLED to get a handmade beaded bracelet with his name on it from a 10 year old.

I love that this project has given me such an appreciation for teenagers.
